Are Jumini toys safe?
Yes. Every Jumini toy is independently tested before it goes on sale, and we don't sell anything that hasn't passed. Toys for babies and toddlers are held to the strictest standards because we know they end up in mouths.

What safety standards do your toys meet?
All our toys are tested to EN 71, the UK and European toy safety standard. That covers three things: the physical design (no sharp edges, no parts that can come loose and choke), how the materials behave if they catch fire, and the chemicals used in paints and finishes. Our toys are UKCA and CE marked.

Who does the testing?
Independent accredited laboratories, not us. Testing is done on production samples, and we retest when a product changes. We use Eurofins Bureau Veritas and and SGS specialist independent laboratories.

Is the paint safe if my child chews the toy?
Yes. We use non-toxic paints and lacquers, tested to EN 71-3, which sets strict limits on heavy metals like lead and cadmium. Chewing and mouthing is normal at this age and our toys are made for it.

Are your toys free from harmful chemicals?
Yes. No BPA, no PVC, no phthalates, no lead. Our silicone products are 100% food-grade and tested to food-contact standards.

How do I know which age a toy is for?
Every product page shows the age it's suitable for, and it's printed on the box. Please stick to it. The age isn't about how clever your child is, it's about safety — a toy marked 3+ usually has small parts that are a choking risk for a younger child, even a very capable one.

Why is a toy marked 3+ when it looks fine for a toddler?
Small parts. Under EN 71 anything that fits inside a small-parts cylinder, roughly the size of a young child's windpipe, can't be sold for under-3s. It's a hard rule and we don't bend it.

What if a piece breaks or splinters?
Stop using it and get in touch. Send us a photo and your order number and we'll sort it out. Wooden toys are hard-wearing but nothing is indestructible, and a damaged toy can become a hazard.

Where are your toys made?
Designed in the UK by our family team and made in a factory we've worked with for years, which is FSC and ISO 9001 certified. We visit, and we know who makes our toys.

Is the wood sustainable?
Yes. Our wooden toys are made from FSC certified wood, which means the forests it comes from are responsibly managed and replanted. [FSC licence code: FSC-C110404]

What about the packaging?
We've taken plastic out wherever we can. Our gift boxes are card, and we're working on the last few items where plastic is still needed to protect the product.

How do I clean a Jumini toy?
Wipe wooden toys with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Don't soak them and don't put them in the dishwasher — water gets into the wood and damages the finish. Silicone items from the Jumini Baby and Junior ranges are dishwasher and steriliser safe. Plush toys from Jumini Friends can be [washed at 30°C / surface washed].

Are bath toys mould-proof?
Our silicone bath toys have no pinholes, so water can't get trapped inside and grow mould, which is the usual problem with squeezy bath toys. Rinse and dry after use.
